Pacific Crest Trail

ESVA Sponsored Challenge – (The Pacific Crest Trail)

Cost is $10

Program starts January 1, 2022 and ends December 31, 2030. Books may be purchased until December 31, 2029. Patches for books received after the end date will be sent while supplies last. No refunds. Walk and hike twelve AVA sanctioned events along portions of the scenic Pacific Crest Trail in Washington, Oregon and California.

Complete four Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) hikes in Washington State and four PCT hikes in Oregon State. Plus four additional PCT hikes in any of the three states for a total of 12. At least 3 kilometers on the PCT must be done for the hike to count. You may hike the same event only once per year, although through hikes (those that may be hiked from either end), may count twice, if started from the other end. A few of the hikes are relatively easy while most are on difficult terrain.

On each page of the book where you stamp the event, you will record the State the event is in, the hike name, the date you hiked the event and the distance you hiked. You will also have room to place a National Park, a State Park, or National Forest stamp, a receipt from a local business, a photo, or write in comments about the event you hiked.
All hikes are available only in the AVA Online Start Box (OSB). You must register for each event and return to the OSB to complete the process and download your stamp(s) to affix in the book.

To find the latest PCT hikes in the AVA OSB, go into the my.ava.org website. Under the “Find a …” tab is the “Find an Event” tab. In the “Search” box, type “Pac” to bring up the current list of PCT hikes in the three states.

The award is a 4″ by 4″ color embroidered patch.
